Paso Robles. Sometimes the home of the festivals. Granted, there are festivals everywhere, but the ones at Paso Robles are certainly ones to remember! We want to feature a single festival that happens here at Paso Robles every year. This is just something to warm you before you really get started with the days-long summer festivals here in town.
The cycling festival is back! Like we said, this one is one to remember. Each Memorial Day Paso Robles hosts the Paso Robles Cycling Festival. What’s so special about it? Well, to start, it is the foremost and longest running bicycle festival in the United States of America. Here is some spitfire information and stats: 25 ride options; 4 days of festivities; family-friendly activities; face painting; wood fired pizza; and a community BBQ. While this is a pure highlight, there is so much more to check of from May 24 to May 27. Event entry varies on your party’s size and age, and the ticketing page can give you a clearer indication.
To name all the options in this post would result in a novel as opposed to a quick read. However, there are some things that should be highlighted. Many people love travelling in groups, and thankfully this festival allows for group rides. These group rides are on a fixed schedule and have a specific departure time. That aside, you gain the comfort of travelling, sightseeing, and having fun with your friends along the way. There are different routes on the different four days.
If you’re one of those that prefers a solo route, you’re still in luck. There are over 25 routes for you to choose, depending on your experience and intensity level. All routes are self-guided.
As noted, there are family activities that are perfect or the younger ones. Everyone of all ages is welcome at the family activities.
And of course, a festival is only complete with food, drink, and socializing. Everything from beer tasting on Friday, pasta and wine on Saturday, and a burger bar on Sunday afternoon, you’ll covered. Each day features a different theme of food, but of course you can expect pizza all weekend long!
