Ahh, June and July -- the months for festivals. Surely there are festivals happening all year ‘round, but the festivals that make memories happen just within these months. While the list can go on and on about all the different things you could be doing. And in particular, these two following events don’t make wine the feature, though we’re sure there will be wine involved!
Paso Pops happens on July 4, 2019. Date seem familiar? Well, of course it is! The Fourth of July, also known as America’s Independence day is the hallmark date in American history. This is a date that originally signalled America’s emergence as a nation to the rest of the world -- and to this day is proudly celebrated across the nation.
While this event starts around 4PM in the afternoon, it leaves time for everyone to sleep in, find a brunch place in downtown Paso Robles, and then finally close the day off with the festivities of the day. Activities include: children’s area, walk-around and wine-tastings, competitions, and of course celebratory fireworks!
On July 6th, 2019 the 11th Annual Lavender Festival ensues! During this time of year the lavender blooms like wildfire. The area is therapeutically aromatic. And if that isn’t enough then visually, you may find yourself relaxing with every step in a sea of purple flowers.
From 10 AM to 5 PM in Paso Robles Downtown City Park, you get to meet some of the top producers across the region, learn more about the flower’s many uses and enjoy the different foods and beverages that lavender can be used in.
Looking for somewhere close to stay so you can maximize the amount of lavender in your life? Look no further. The Best Western Plus Black Oak is only a five minute drive away from the park. And of course, after smelling so much lavender anyone would only want to lie down and rest a while - our sauna can complement your needs! And when you’re done there, your comfortable bed awaits you.
