You may not know that one of Paso Robles’ very own vineyards, Castoro Cellars Vineyards & Winery, hosts a music and arts festival every year.

Originally called Beaverstock and later changed to the Whale Rock Music and Arts Festival, for two whole days each September the region becomes home to one of the best festivals in the state.

And this year, Castoro Cellars’ Whale Rock Music and Arts Festival is back on!

What began as a 30th anniversary celebration for the Paso Robles vineyard quickly became an annual tradition. Within the last eight years, the Whale Rock Music and Arts Festival has grown to be an event that attracts musical acts and guests from all over California.

With COVID-19 safety measures in place, the event is going forward this year and is set to take place on September 18th and 19th.

Live music will be performed all weekend long, and the 2021 lineup is looking better than ever. Guests can expect to see Ben Harper, Michael Franti & Spearhead, Rising Appalachia, John Craigie, La Santa Cecilia, Raquel Rodriguez, Diggin Dirt, and several other artists throughout the course of the weekend. Concerts kick off at 1:00 pm each day, with the final show beginning at 8:00 pm on both the Saturday and Sunday. Shows will be performed on two stages: the Main Stage and the Stomping Grounds Stage.

Beyond music, there will be tons of other activities on-site for people of all ages. There will be 45-minute yoga classes throughout the day, including kids yoga, not to mention plenty of arts and crafts for the kids.

Please note that proof of vaccination or proof of a negative COVID-19 test is mandatory for all guests over two years of age.

What are you waiting for? If you’re going to be in Paso Robles over the September 18-19 weekend, then be sure to grab your ticket to the annual Whale Rock Music and Arts Festival. Tickets range from $96.85 for a one-day pass to $148.44 for a two-day pass.

And if you need a place to stay during your visit, we’d love to host you at the Best Western Plus Black Oak. We combine family-friendly amenities and a welcoming atmosphere with an unbeatable location.
