At this time of year, there are all types of community activities you can engage in to get into the spirit of the holidays. You can watch parades, browse through Christmas markets or join in wreath and candle making parties. These are the typical festive things to do during the holiday season. However, in Paso Robles, CA, there are a couple of unconventional events taking place that can help you shake up the usual Christmas rituals.

29th Annual Victorian Teddy Bear Tea
On Saturday, December 21, from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM, the 29th Annual Victorian Teddy Bear Tea returns. Every year the Snow Queen and King, Mr. and Mrs. Claus, Elves, and Victorian characters make their way to the Paso Robles Park Ballroom and celebrate the holiday season with some tea! There will also be music, caroling, storytime, gingerbread cookies, candy canes, coloring and so much more. Kids are encouraged to bring their teddy bears along to join in on the fun. Tickets are $8 for children and $20 for adults and are available on Dec 8. There will be door prizes and a commemorative teacup and saucer to bring home!

Live at Dark Star: Natalie Gelman
In California, sampling divine wine in a tasting room somewhere in Paso Robles and listening to live music are activities normally reserved for the summer months. However, seeing a fabulous performer like Natalie Gelman perform for an audience at Dark Star Cellars, a renowned winery that produces fine hand-crafted wine, is not such an ordinary occurrence in the winter months. Natalie Gelman is a folk-pop, singer-songwriter from New York, who captivates audiences with her strong voice echoing poignant, insightful stories. Dark Star Cellars is a relaxed and rustic establishment offering visitors delightful wine tasting experiences. The pairing of an incredible musician at a charming venue for shows on Dec 28 and 29 will be truly special. Pack your own picnic or savor snacks offered at the winery.
