Grab your picnic basket and pack up your lawn chair: Ten local musical groups will headline Paso Robles' Summer Concerts in the Park this year.

A summer of live, free music kicks off on Thursday, June 7 with some classic R&B and Motown from The Brass Factory.

This will be followed with rock, funk and reggae by The Jammies on June 14; some country and rock n’ roll from Monte Mills on June 21; and some rockin’ American roots with Dulcie Taylor on June 28.

On July 5 there will be rock n’ roll and soul music from Unfinished Business; on July 12 there’ll be some energetic blues and bluegrass from Dirty Cello; and on July 19, Sound Investment will steal the spotlight with some pop, rock and dance tunes.

On August 2, The JD Project will take centre stage with some country, rock and blues, while on August 9, The Kings of 88 will be celebrating summer with some classic piano rock. And on August 16, the Joy Bonner Band will be serving up some rockin’ old soul.

All of the concerts will take place at the downtown City Park at 6pm—and they’re absolutely free! Food and drink, including J Lohr wine and Firestone beer, will be available for purchase. All proceeds from beverage sales will benefit the Paso Robles REC Foundation, a non-profit fundraising corporation that’s committed to creating enhanced programs, places and open spaces for recreational experiences in Paso Robles. Is there any better excuse than that for sipping some Paso Robles wine and soaking up some Paso Robles tunes?

So pack up your picnic basket, prepare yourself for some live tunes and book yourself a getaway at the BEST WESTERN PLUS Black Oak Hotel this summer. Family-owned and operated since 1961, this beautifully-landscaped property is the perfect option for a summer break in Paso Robles.
