Ahh, December. You can already smell the holiday spices spreading their aroma everywhere. Get into the holiday spirit by participating in festive activities and filling your home with holiday decorations and holiday scents. Nothing beats coming home after a long day to find the essence of cinnamon surrounding you and washing your troubles away. If you are looking for something a little more hands-on to get into the groove of the season, then check these activities out!
From November 21, 2019, to December 29, 2019, join premier craftspeople from California and the surrounding area in this featured invitation exhibit. Only the best of the best are invited to showcase their masterpieces. A portion of the proceeds from the sale will be donated to the Studios on the Park’s educational programs and providing public access to their studio facility. The event is located at Studios on the Park and runs each day from 12:00 PM to 4:00 PM. Admission is free.
A familiar symbol of the season is the lush green wreath. While traditional wreaths are decorated with pine branches, pinecones, and poinsettias, you can take creative license and create your own reflecting your vision of what Christmas means to you. Head on over to Cass Winery on Thursday, December 12 from 5:30 PM - 7:30 PM to participate in this special wreath-making workshop. Admission is $65 per person and this event is appropriate for ages 21 and older. The cost of the ticket also includes fabulous food and wine.
It’s back! Every year the Vine Street Victorian Christmas Showcase returns to herald in the holiday season. This year it will be on Saturday, December 14, 2019, from 6:00 PM - 9:00 PM. The showcase stretches all along Vine Street between 8th and 21st Streets. That’s approximately 13 blocks to take in the festive spirit of the event! What can you expect? For those unfamiliar with the Vine Street Victorian Showcase, it's the annual community Christmas party where all members of the family can join in and celebrate the joys of the season. You'll meet Mr. Scrooge, the Snow Queen, and Mr. & Mrs. Claus. There will be carolers, floats, entertainment, community open houses, live music, and so many (too many) sweets and other goodies!
