Paso Robles represents America’s wine country. As the harvesting season comes to a close for grape growers, winemakers, and vineyard owners in general, now is the time to celebrate the harvest and the flow of wine that is the product of dedication and craftsmanship.  In an area of the country so concentrated with grapes and wines, there are definitely plenty of wine-inspired events to check out. For example, the three below!

2019 Garagiste Wine Festival

Let’s start off with something that makes a lot of sense: a wine festival. The 2019 Garagiste Wine Festival takes place on November 8-10, 2019 right in Paso Robles, California.  Make your way over to the headquarters, The American Legion Hall.  This three-day event features some wine, more wine, and even more wine! On Friday, take the time to taste and sample some of the rarest and special reserve wines; this opportunity is exclusive to this day. Tickets range from $65 to $155 depending on how much of a good thing you're up for.

Elegant Evening Downtown

Next up: something slightly different from a formal wine festival. This Elegant Evening Downtown does feature wine among other things.  On Saturday, November 16, jump on over to Downtown Paso Robles for a free admission event that includes live mannequins, dancers, singers, musicians, and much more.  The event starts at 5 PM and ends at 8 PM.

2019 Wine Country Runs Half Marathon & 5K

Okay, this one is definitely unrelated to wine, but it is still wine-inspired.  On Sunday, November 17 -- perhaps after you’ve enjoyed your time at the Elegant Evening Downtown -- you may find yourself running a half marathon or even a 5K course. Event organizers of the 2019 Wine Country Runs Half Marathon & 5K encourages everyone to participate as the event has a “run/walk” option: this means you can progress at your own pace to complete whichever course you choose.  Fees are $40-50 for the 5K, and $70-95 for the half marathon distance. The half marathon kicks off at 8:00 AM and the 5K starts at 8:15 AM.

After all the fun and vigorous activities of the day, you may not want to plan any long trips (either by car or plane), in the short term anyway. With sore legs and empty stomachs, you can book a room at the Best Western Plus Black Oak and take a soothing dip in the sauna, and head to Margie’s Diner after for a quick bite to eat. Replenish your energy for tomorrow's adventures in a well-appointed comfortable room.
